As Adrianne Palicki steps into Wonder Woman's super sexy outfit for the upcoming relaunch of the '70s superhero television show, you might wonder what the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, thinks about her replacement.
"I think she looks fabulous," Carter, 59, gushed to E! Online, about the former Friday Night Lights actress. "It's a new look and, jeez, her body looks fantastic."
And Carter really has no qualms about being compared to the 27-year-old.
"I'm sure there will be people who say she looks better than me and like her better than me – and that's also fine," she says. "I want this story to be told again. I'm really excited. I can't wait to see it."
But she's also hoping that the older viewers, who remember very well what Carter was like when she was tossing around that lasso of truth, give Palicki a fair shake in her new role.
"You know, I'm very sensitive to the fact that she will be compared," Carter said. "There's no getting around it. It is what it is. I would hope that people would cut her some slack.
As for the possibility that the Carter and Palicki may come face-to-face in the new David E. Kelley series, the veteran actress isn't ruling it out. "It's not out of the question," Carter said. "It would be great."
